Travel preparation for passengers in wheelchairs

On an urban/metropolitan trip, as no prior reservation is required, it is not necessary for the passenger to arrive at the service starting stop in advance.

Remember to notify the bus driving staff to inform them of your intention to board.

As a general rule, an accessible trip for wheelchair users (PRM-WU) requires the following elements:

  • Accessible bus with an access ramp for boarding the person in a wheelchair and permanently designated PRM-WU spaces which, although they may be used occasionally by other passengers (e.g., standing passengers), are for the priority use of people in wheelchairs.
Ibiza's vehicles have 2 reserved spaces for PRM-WU located next to the center door. To travel in them, the wheelchair user must position themselves rearward-facing and use the leaning pad and the available safety belt.
Check here for more information about the requirements your wheelchair must meet to travel in this space.
  • Driving staff, who have detailed procedures and instructions for all phases of the trip and all types of services and vehicles.
  • Accessible stop/platform. In order for you to use the bus access ramp, the stop must meet certain minimum dimensions.
Therefore, due to the physical limitations of some stops or stations, whose management is the responsibility of entities external to Alsa, it is possible that we may not be able to offer an accessible service at some points. We are working with these entities to update these spaces as soon as possible to make them suitable for everyone.

For your part, it is necessary to ensure that your wheelchair complies with the access restrictions for traveling in the PRM-WU space. Check if this is the case.

If you have any other needs or circumstances that you consider important for us to know, please communicate them to our staff during boarding.
